How to clean your "Money 2," a common term used in the Hmong Community, in referrence to, "silver plated," jewelries.
My Method Using Connoisseurs Jewelry Cleaner
Note: Once the silver is stripped, you will no longer be able to clean with good results. The only solution is to replate with silver again.
The layer of silver plated are so thin, it will not withstand the strong chemical solution. IMPORTANT: PLEASE DO NOT DIP OR SUBMERGE ITEMS INTO THE CHEMICAL SOLUTION (the solution will strip the think layer of silver right off,) instead, use cotton balls and cotton swabs. it is not a process that can be shortcut or rushed. please clear your schedule and take your time.
Using a cotton ball or cotton swab or tooth brush for narrow or tight area and work in a circular polishing motion.
Once you are done swabbing the item, rinse items thoroughly in lukewarm water for about 5 minutes, long enough to ensure all chemicals are rinsed off
Once done with rinsing, blow dry item in high heat temperature until dry. Once dry, please bring the hot items back to room temperature or cool down by lowering the heat temperature in cold or cool air.
You are done. Pack securely into securely into zip lock bag and put away. If it doesn't work, you will know right away the following day. Good Luck!
